Attention 5th Grade Students!!

We need your help to create the cover for the 2026-2027 yearbook! Artwork must be completed at

home by a 5th-grade student who is currently enrolled at WoodCreek Elementary for the 2026-2027

school year. Each submission must be an original hand-drawn piece of artwork, no digital images.

Students can only submit one piece of artwork.

***Privacy “N” coded students are not eligible to submit cover artwork.***

Students who submit an art piece that have a privacy “N” code will be automatically omitted from the contest. If you have questions about your student’s privacy code, please contact our registrar, Claudia Hoffman at ClaudiaCHoffmann@katyisd.org.

Prizes:

1st Place - Student’s image placed on the outside front cover of the yearbook and 1 free yearbook.

2nd Place - Student’s image is placed on the inside title page of the yearbook.

3rd Place-6th Place - Student’s image is placed on the back of the yearbook.

Submission Requirements: 

• Format and Size: 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper
• Title (theme): 20 Years of Adventure
• Theme Inspiration: Rangers, woods/forest, vintage, journey, together, honest, trustworthy, learning, growing, belonging, greatness, friends, exploring, checker pattern, tie-dye, plaid, fun!
• Colors that will be used on inside yearbook pages: greens, gold, rust, dark purple, teal, orange, blue

Contest Deadline: Due by Thursday, 9/17/2026 at 3:00pm 

How to Submit Artwork:

Submission must be turned in to the student’s art teacher before contest deadline. 

What must be included: 

1. School Name – WoodCreek Elementary (note: WoodCreek is 1 word. The W, C, and the first E in elementary should all capitalized)
2. Year – 2026-2027
3. Title – 20 Years of Adventure
4. Use the PTA provided inspirational images to help with creativity and inspiration.
5. Use bold, heavily filled in colors. Images will be scanned, so large amounts of shading will not show up very well.
6. Be creative and have fun!!
7. **On the Back in Pencil** include your full name and your homeroom teacher.
